Valve and top-end inspection
Clearances measured cold to the manual for that R6 or R1 year. Low compression moves the job into leak-down and a real top-end decision, not a thicker oil recommendation.
Kansas City, Missouri (KCMO) & the KC metro
Crashout Performance services Yamaha supersport bikes in Kansas City, particularly R6 and R1 motorcycles that need engine inspection, valve work, electrical diagnosis, or help finishing a modification. High-rpm Yamaha engines are not maintained like a commuter twin, and we do not pretend they are.
Crashout Performance
R6 and R1 generations changed engines, throttle bodies, and electronics across years that still look similar in a classified ad. Crashout Performance needs the year before discussing valve clearance, a fuel-controller question, or whether a used exhaust even belongs on that chassis.
These bikes often arrive with track miles, a slip-on, and a story that the valves were “probably fine.” Track use is not a problem. Unmeasured valves and a charging connector that was never rechecked after fairing-off work are problems.
What we cover
We focus on the mechanical and electrical health of the motorcycle. We are not a Yamaha dealer.
Clearances measured cold to the manual for that R6 or R1 year. Low compression moves the job into leak-down and a real top-end decision, not a thicker oil recommendation.
No-starts, regulator connectors, and harness rubs under the tank or tail. EXUP and servo faults are diagnosed as circuits and mechanisms, not automatically “deleted” because a light is on.
Exhaust fitment, intake leaks, and wiring left half-done. Fueling products are discussed only for the bike in front of us. Dyno flashing is not a service we advertise.
How we work
Year and model decide the specs. A photo of the bike and a plain description of the symptom decide whether we are the right shop.
Final pricing is provided after the work is complete and reflects the labor and parts the job actually required.
Crashout Performance does not install or remove tires or forks. Read the Service Terms and contact us with your bike details.
Questions? Visit the reviews page or call the shop.
Year, model, and any code stamped on an engine or a previous invoice. “CBR” or “R6” is not specific enough for parts or valve specs.
Compression, electrical tests, and a look at previous repairs come before cam covers or cases come off for good.
You get the measurement or the failed circuit in normal language, and a chance to approve the next step.
In-depth guide
Yamaha supersport bikes punish generic sportbike advice. A few distinctions matter before the bike is in the stand.
An early R6 and a later one do not share the same valve-check interval or shim approach. An R1 with ride-by-wire is not diagnosed like a cable-throttle R1. Bring the year, and if you know it, the production range.
Cross-generation parts are a common reason a “bolt-on” exhaust or airbox does not seal. We check fit instead of forcing it.
A bike that lives at the track may have crash repairs, safety wire, and a harness that was disturbed. We look for those before we blame a coil. Oil condition and coolant intrusion still matter if the engine is making metal or eating coolant.
We do not set up suspension or mount slicks. If the request is mainly forks and tires, we are the wrong shop.
Immobilizer lights, tip-over sensors, and throttle-body faults get tested. We do not clear a warning and call it repaired if the circuit still fails the next heat cycle.
Custom dashes, if you want one, are a separate fitment project through the Crashout storefront, with the front stay planned for that Yamaha.
Kansas City metro
Riders from the Missouri and Kansas sides of the metro bring R6 and R1 bikes to Crashout Performance for work dealers often do not want once the bike is modified or out of warranty.
Start with sportbike repair for a general service request, engine repair for internal work, and diagnostics when it cranks and will not run or only fails when hot.
Common questions
Yes. Crashout Performance works on Yamaha R6 and R1 sportbikes for engine inspection, diagnostics, electrical repair, maintenance, and performance fitment. Other Yamaha models are considered case by case.
We do not advertise EXUP deletes. A servo or cable fault is diagnosed. If you want a permanent emissions or valve modification, say so. Many of those changes are a poor idea on a street bike and may be declined.
No. Dyno tuning and ECU flashing are not services Crashout Performance advertises. We can still discuss mechanical preparation and whether an exhaust install is a fit without a flash.
Sometimes, if the job is diagnosis, maintenance, or engine work we can support. They are not the center of the shop. Ask with the year and the symptom.
Send the year, make, model, symptoms or goals, and any recent work. We will let you know whether the job is a fit and what the next step should be.
